Do You Have Any First Date Ideas To Suggest?

by admin on December 1, 2009

Choosing a first date idea from the many first date ideas that others have used successfully can be a good move, but you do need to make sure it is something that you are comfortable with. For example, don’t go swimming if you really don’t like that activity. You need to do something that reflects your interests, and confirms who you actually are, not who you would like to be.

Many of the first date ideas do depend on your current location. If you live in a hot sunny climate near a beach, then you can use the beach as a first date, knowing that the weather is unlikely to change your plans. However, if you live somewhere colder, and wetter, then choosing an indoor location could be a smart move. Not too many people enjoy being soaked to the skin on a first date!

Now, a lot of first dates seem to be to go to see a movie, which really surprises me. How can you get to know someone if you can’t talk to them? Sure, a movie does give you something in common to talk about afterward, but if you are really find it that hard to talk to someone, then other activities may be better for you.

If the weather is likely to be decent, then a walk along a beach, or a river bank can give you the chance to talk, or a trip to a park, or a crazy golf course, where your score really doesn’t matter. It is the activity, while finding out about the new person in your life that is important, not who wins. Stay away from sports like golf, unless you know for sure that your date does play golf, and even then it might be better for a later date. First dates can be anxious times, and it probably won’t help your score any!

Billiards or pool can be a good idea, provided all your guy friends are not around, but do be careful, not everyone wants to try a new sport on a first date. Keep away from activities like hiking that will have you both sweating and out of breath, huffing and puffing is not all that appealing!

If the weather is good, then a picnic can give you both the chance to talk, in any location you choose, and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg either.  Some stores will make up picnic baskets for you, but it doesn’t need a lot of imagination to come up with a few treats, to share in the wonderful outdoors.

If you have an amusement park close by, your first date could be there, although these can tend to get expensive by the time you add everything up. You do not want to end up in debt over this first date.

What about the arts scene? Or a pub lunch? Or a drive to a local tourist spot? In fact touring the city where you live can be fun, and is something that not everyone has done. It is always fun to see your city through the eyes of a visitor.

The safe date is always a meal at a mid range restaurant, or perhaps you just want to meet for a coffee and see how that goes first, but plan an extension to this in case you both want to extend the time together.

You don’t want to go high end and end up having to do something better than that later, but nor do you want to go the fast food route, so just go with something that feels comfortable, so that you and your date can relax, and enjoy one anothers company.

So think carefully about your first date ideas, and choose one that feels good to you, and all should go well for you both.
